Hey there Bubble Buddies (TM), we’re back with your newest dose of comics blabbery! On today’s show we’ve got our thoughts on Ram V and Anand RK’s book Blue in Green and we talk about Disney+’s latest MCU offering, Loki.
Show notes coming atcha!
In the News:
- On June 10 the nominations for the 2021 Eisner Awards were announced (and they’ve added a new category this year, Best Graphic Memoir). Winners will be declared during the San Diego Comic-Con that will be going virtually again this year between July 23-25.
- The Gideon Falls team Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino just announced a new book, seemingly called “Classified” or maybe they’re saying the title cannot be divulged? I don’t know, but the cover they shared has me excited for some new indie comix goodness. First issue should be dropping this September. Update since recording!!! The book is actually going to be called Primordial and will be a six-issue miniseries.
- The rounding out of the Sandman cast for the Netflix series has got me very excited. I’ve been waiting 20+ years for this, let’s gooooo. Last I saw release date likely 2022.
Once we get through the news, we’ll be talking atcha about Blue in Green (wr. Ram V, ill. Anand RK, col. John Pearson, let. Aditya Bidikar), the dark, devil at the crossroads story about passion, self-discovery, and self-destruction.
Then we’re catching up with that mischievous trickster god Loki over on Disney+. We run down the first two episodes and what we thought about them.
And finally we tell you what we’ve been reading these days and set you up for the next Lemire-athon episode.
And that’s the ballgame. Catch ya next time!
